About Lyndee Mah

Lyndee Mah, a vocal performing artist based in Portland, Oregon, consistently captivates and entertains audiences with her powerful and supple voice. She has been described as “a pure-voiced diva” by Dance Magazine and as “completely magnetic” by Paperback Jukebox.

Her 20+ year artistic career personifies musical diversity, spanning numerous styles and forms including jazz, classical, gospel, country and western, and live improvisation. An accomplished performer, Mah contributes her unique vocalizations to dance, visual art, and theater performances, as well as to corporate videos and industrial films.

Mah’s many projects include E`-Bon E`-Bon an original mixed-media Musica-Memoir Performance based on her Chinese-European-American heritage, co-founding Pink Martini, creative musical direction for the Gregg Bielemeier Dance Project, concerts with the late Grammy-nomiated pianist Janice Scroggins, artistic residencies with composer/pianist Bernadette Speach and poet Thulani Davis, spoken word adaptation for video installation by French visual artist Marie Sester, Anna I in Liminal Theater’s production of Kurt Weill’s Seven Deadly Sins, and originating the role of the Lady in Red for Imago Theater’s production of A House Taken Over.

Ms. Mah’s work has been commissioned and supported by the Regional Arts & Culture Council, ArtQuake, Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, Reed College, Portland Art Museum, White Bird, Museum of Contemporary Craft, Pacific Northwest College of Art, and numerous private sponsors.
